The ESSENTIAL OPERA Company presents Mozart’s The Magic Flute, in association with Bangkok Community Theatre, as an enchanting dinner theatre experience.
Hot on the heels of recent sell out productions of La Traviata, Don Giovanni, and The Marriage of Figaro, Bangkok’s very own Essential Opera Company returns with a beautifully staged production of one of Mozart’s best loved operatic works, The Magic Flute.
Join Prince Tamino and the jolly bird-catcher Papageno on their fantastical journey to rescue the Queen of the Night’s daughter, Pamina, from the clutches of high-priest Sarastro and his disciples, armed only with a set of pan pipes and, of course, the eponymous magic flute! The ensuing battle between the dominions of light and darkness draws together themes of love, longing, wisdom and enlightenment, and is set to a score that combines some of opera’s most dazzling arias, rousing choruses, and intricate ensembles, woven together with sections of dialogue that resemble a traditional stage play.
Presented in Essential Opera’s signature dinner theatre format, the performance will be accompanied by a sumptuous buffet dinner, included in the ticket price.
This intimate, studio-style, production has been designed to be accessible to all. It will be performed in modern English, abridged to under two hours, and seating is limited to just 75 seats for each performance.
