The Whyte Presents: Shane Ghostkeeper and Lauren Dillen
Friday, August 15th, 2025
Reception 6:00 PM | Concert 7:00 PM
Heritage Gallery, Whyte Museum
Catered by The Rimrock Banff, Presenting Hospitality Sponsor
Shane Ghostkeeper, performing with his full band, brings an approach to country music shaped by years of experimentation and deep family roots in Northern Alberta. Best known for his work with the band Ghostkeeper, Shane’s solo material steps into more traditional territory, drawing on the rhythms and tones of classic country, while remaining flexible, sharp, and unpredictable. His latest album, Songs for My People, is a personal and stylistically rich collection of songs that reflect on ancestry, community, and the strangeness of memory.

Lauren Dillen, performing as a duo, opens the night with a set of stripped-back, emotionally tuned songs. Known for her work with Toronto psych-folk band Burs, Dillen’s solo work is sparse and intentional. Her debut release, every-woman sore (Victory Pool Records), captures the tension between tenderness and uncertainty, using minimal arrangements and a quietly expressive vocal delivery. With echoes of Big Thief and Laura Marling, Dillen’s songs linger long after the final note.
