REGISTRATION OPENS AT 8:30AM EVENT START 10:00AM
This event is open to the whole community – you do not need to be a member of Banbury Rugby Club to participate. The goal is to have as many people of all abilities and ages taking part in order to raise awareness of a very special charity for a very special man. John ‘JB’ Baker has given so much to our rugby club and is also very popular in the wider community. Late last year he suffered a life changing injury whilst playing the sport he loves. He is a director of local firm, Hawkins, and also well known for starring in “Strictly Banbury” on a number of occasions. A friendly giant of a man loved by many.
In keeping with BRUFC’s policy of inclusion and diversity, everyone is welcome to participate in this active fundraising event. You are invited to walk, jog or run as many 1km loops of the grounds at Banbury Rugby Club for a period of up to 2hrs.
There is no minimum period, and you are welcome to take breaks and ‘refuel’ as necessary. On the other hand, feel free to challenge yourself to see how many loops you can complete.
Your welcome to take part on your own or as part of a team of 4.
There will be prizes for the eldest and youngest person taking part, and for the team of four who complete the most loops (over 18 years old). Other prizes will also be awarded to recognise the different ages and abilities of competitors.
All funds raised will be donated to the RFU Injured Players Foundation, recognising the support they have given to JB since his life changing injury last year.
Your entry fee will be a donation to the IPF charity. We are asking for a minimum donation of £5 per individual.
