The Shelter Valley Concert Series September concert features a double-bill concert of Made In Canada Live & Local Magic. Series Host Randy Stewart opens for a set and then introduces us to local singer songwriter Jackie Findlay - accompanied by Matt Smith.
Born and raised in Belleville Ontario Canada, Jackie Findlay began classical guitar lessons at fourteen and later continued her studies with the widely respected Eli Kassner of the Guitar Academy in Toronto. It was around this time that Jackie began to sing and perform at local venues drawing upon material from all her major influences including Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and Carly Simon.
Later she went on to study Opera and Art Song at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
An interest in song writing eventually led her to workshops in Nashville and sparked some interest from major publishers. Currently Jackie has released her debut album of original material called Blue Pearl.
"Such a beautiful song 'Wonder' from the gorgeous album Blue Pearl. Jackie Findlay's music is a gift to the world."
- Martha Reich Braden, award winning songwriter and Grammys voting member.
Randy Stewart is a Canadian singer/songwriter who has been performing professionally for more than 30 years. He has been seen on television, heard on radio and recorded by the CBC. His recordings can be found in the delete bins of some of the country’s finest record stores.
He has been crusading for years to purge love songs from his performances. His mantra – Sad Songs & Funny Songs ‘I DON’T PLAY LOVE SONGS’ – has become familiar to music fans throughout the region and lead him to seach for the unexpected songs found in the cannons of resistance and protest movements.
“There are a lot of performers out there singing about love and relationships – I’m just not one of ‘em”.
Pineapple Productions is extremely proud to present this exclusive concert as part of our 2025 Shelter Valley Concert Series.
