Urban Reads is one of many Black-owned businesses in Baltimore facing ongoing racist harassment, threats, and intimidation by white supremacists.
These ongoing attacks on the Baltimore’s Black community are unacceptable, and in traditional Baltimore fashion, we refuse to remain silent in the face of racial and social injustice.
From Freddie Gray to Urban Reads to BJ Abdullah to Tyrone West - Baltimore stands united in the ongoing fight against racial injustice.
Join FSC, PPA, Urban Reads, PLM, and PSL on August 23rd at 10:00 AM, as we walk together in solidarity, because liberation is a collective struggle and journey.
After the walk there will be a community event filled with food, music, art, and family-friendly activities.
Attendees are asked to wear all black in honor of Black August.
More detail will be posted as they become available.
We encourage carpooling and public transit, as parking in the area is limited.
