In Bloom welcomes BIPOC folks into a small, supportive space to explore the healing power of nature and community. Through nature-based, self-reflective activities, mindfulness practices, and group discussion, participants are invited to connect more deeply with themselves and the land around them.
Guided by the belief that nature is a mirror, container, healer, collaborator, and guide, this circle offers space to slow down, tune in, and engage in somatic and immersive grounding. Participants will leave with practical tools for mindfulness, a renewed sense of connection to nature, and ideas for weaving nature into self and community care practices.
Facilitators: Amanda Benjamin, LCSW-C (she/her) and Yi Q. Chen, LMSW (she/they)
Amanda is a clinical social worker who specializes in creating healing spaces for black and brown folks. Since 2016, she has committed herself to supporting black and brown youth and activists, guided by the principles of gentleness, intentionality, and honesty. She believes in the healing power of nature and community and is dedicated to black liberation, both personally and collectively. Her approach to healing work is mindfulness-based, client-centered and liberation-focused. She has worked extensively in school settings and in private practice as a therapist, and she thrives in cultivating authentic, interconnected group dynamics. She finds it to be a true honor to hold space and support others in navigating their own healing journeys.
Yi is a social worker and trauma therapist who works with LGBTQ2SIA+ and BIPOC adults at Bmore Liberated using an eclectic approach, combining elements of nature therapy, somatic parts work, and creative and expressive therapies. She also uses neurodivergent-affirming, mindfulness, and values-based techniques and frameworks in their therapy practice. They believe in the power of nurturing your strengths, tending to your growth edges, and co-creating spaces together in service of individual, interpersonal, and collective healing and liberation. In their free time she loves exploring and learning, playing with opportunities to practice creativity, and organizing crafternoons with the Baltimore Chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals.
About Bmore Liberated: Bmore Liberated is a collective of queer identified therapists whose passion lies in providing affirming and liberating mental health services for folks who may experience any and all forms of oppression.
