From spontaneous species to revered ethnic selections; from common landscaping ornamentals to alley & sidewalk weeds; from street trees to vegetable gardens: urban residential environments can host tremendous plant diversity.
Developing familiarity with the plants in your bioregion, including urban settings, can expand and enrich our sense of community, connection, and belonging as we learn to recognize more neighbors making their homes alongside our own.
On these walks, we'll explore the diverse abundance of edible and medicinal plants flourishing in our urban environment. Sample some of the delicious and nutritious plants growing all around us and learn:
Our Saturday walk will convene at Motzi Bread at 2801 Guilford Ave in the Charles Village/ Harwood area -- be sure to grab a pastry & beverage before our walk cuz they close at 2!
On Sunday, we'll convene at the Patterson Park Branch of the Enoch Pratt Library in McElderry Park and meander through and past Patterson Park into Canton.
Feel free to register for Free and make a donation (cash, Zelle, and Paypal) at or after the walk that's commensurate with your means and the value derived from the experience.
Reach out to the Organizer to schedule a walk in your neighborhood!
