Archbishop Lori’s Mass for the Preservation of Peace and Justice

Archbishop William E. Lori will celebrate Mass for the Preservation of Peace and Justice on Wednesday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore. Join in celebration of the Holy Mass and offer thanksgiving for the work of Catholic Relief Services, Catholic Charities and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. A dessert reception will follow.

The support, assistance and prayers of the faithful is vital to sustain the work of Catholic Relief Services, Catholic Charities and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. As Christians, we are called by Jesus to meet the needs of the poor and suffering. The mandate for the Church, clearly defined in the Gospel of Matthew, is to care for the “least of these.” Understanding that every human life is sacred means we must join together and move forward with compassion, justice and mercy.

“The mission to love our neighbors is carried out at home and aboard by the thousands of employees and volunteers of Catholic Relief Services, Catholic Charities and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul,” Archbishop Lori said. “These organizations are the helping hands of the Catholic Church. Together, they put into action what it means to be one human family without regard to national, racial, ethnic, economic or ideological differences.”
