About this Event

A Friday evening of music and books on the patio, highlighting Tyson Koska's new biography of the band CRACK THE SKY! Join us to celebrate the book with the author, who will treat us to a music performance and discuss the book.

In 1975, an unknown band from Weirton, West Virginia SHOCKED the Baltimore music scene – becoming "The Beatles of Baltimore." Rolling Stone deemed their first album "one of the year’s most impressive debuts." In 2015, they listed it in the "50 Greatest Prog Rock Albums of All Time." Yet, Baltimore's Beatles are nearly unknown everywhere else even as, 50 years later, they continue to create new music and sell out shows in their adoptive home.

Quirky, edgy, smart – like the band itself – ALL THINGS CRACK by Tyson Koska is the story of CRACK THE SKY. 100’s of interview hours — dozens of pictures — insights and stories from the past never heard before, "All Things Crack" explores the band's odd history through the voices of the original and subsequent members.

Books will be available for purchase at the event.

Tyson Koska has taught in both the Philosophy and Computer Science departments at Towson University, specializing in the three-way intersection of business, technology, and strategy. His courses in Generative AI and Software Engineering are grounded in real-world experience—helping humans extract value from machines and designing machines that freely offer their value. His background in Aesthetics and deep love of music led him to author All Things Crack: Some Endure (BrickHouse Books, 2024), the official biography of the cult band Crack the Sky. Now in its second printing, the book has struck a chord with the band’s still-passionate fanbase.
