11th Annual Beacon of Light Awards

At Baltimore Teacher Network, one of our core tenents is to empower educators and champions of education in our city, and recognize those who go above and beyond both in and outside the classroom. The Beacon of Light Awards is one of the ways we accomplish this mission.

The Beacon of Light Award was created by BTN and is recognized throughout the state as the Premier Award in the field of education. Past recipients of this prestigious award have been outstanding teachers from various schools and other civic leaders that support education such as: Ben T. Jealous who is the former President of the National NAACP, the late Congressman Elijah Cummings, Congressman Kweisi Mfume, former Mayor, Catherine Pugh, former Mayor, Kurt Schmoke, Dr. Eric Rice of Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore City Councilwoman Mary Pat Clark, State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby, and former Mayor Bernard "Jack" Young, just to name a few.

This year's event promises to be a night of immense pride, honor, as well as fantastic musical performances. Join us in recognizing those who are a true guiding light in Baltimore City's education system.
