There is a beautiful coastal walk along Merricks Creek, through to the Coolart Wetlands. You will absolutely love this coastal, picturesque walk.
Walking through the Coolart Homestead in Somers, Victoria, feels like stepping back in time. Surrounded by serene gardens and wetlands, the historic mansion offers a glimpse into 19th-century Victorian life. As you stroll through, the peaceful sounds of local birdlife and the calming breeze from Western Port Bay create a tranquil atmosphere. You can’t help but slow down when you enter the surrounds!
Our plan is to undertake approx. 8 kilometres here, which is perfect for the adventurous walker. We are excited to share this beautiful walk along Somers beach into the COOLART homestead and wetlands.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This walk is NOT suitable for children under 13 years old, babies in carriers or for people who do not walk more than 5km’s at a time. This is a National Park, therefore no dogs or animals allowed. All children above 13 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
