Heartbeats Wednesday 10am Lake Esmond walking opportunity will help improve your cardiovascular health by getting your heart rate up and increasing strength.
Walking exercises your legs, glutes, core and upper body. Our group is perfect for more experienced walkers, seniors, and beginner exercisers.
Jean and Ross Wiggins joined Heartbeat Ballarat to grow their friendship circle and are now volunteer walk-leaders at this Lake Esmond botanical gardens walk every Wednesday at 10am.
“Walking is the simplest form of exercise we have at our disposal, and it is the most underrated health-improving form of activity we can do,” Mrs Wiggins said.
“Ross and I both enjoy meeting people, and the coffee catch-up following these walks is proving popular”.
Park in Larter Street and use signed entryway. Groups meets in gateway for 10am start.
Walk is on lower level of Lake Esmond. 600 metres per circuit. Set own pace and distance.
35 walkers on average. Mixed ages and abilities.
This walk is hosted by Heartbeat Ballarat and is a registered Heart Foundation Walking Program Walk.
Parking on street. Toilets available on upper level of parkland.
Walk is suitable for all ages and all abilities. Walking aid friendly. Pram friendly. All Heartbeat outdoor walks are dog friendly. Dogs must remain on lead full duration of walk.
Coffee catch post walk in nearby Eureka Centre. Lilys Café has great food, drink, and service. Coffee etc. at own cost.
