The Crag Clean Up 2025 is a simple event designed to include as much fun as possible whilst we help to clean up the Peak.
We love the outdoors, and we are well aware how much we benefit from all it has to offer. People travel from all over the world to enjoy the Peak District and we want to help look after it.
How the Crag Clean Up works |
Every year Outside runs a crag clean up based on a very simple idea. Outside staff venture out to pick litter all over the Peak District, from crags, footpaths, beauty spots and laybys. We kindly ask that friends, family and customers help with this, during their own day out on the hill.
Everyone who arrives at the shop toting a bag of rubbish will be welcomed with a free BBQ, beers and soft drinks; outside the shop in the afternoon and into the evening; plus there are spot prizes awarded by our sponsors.
You can pick up bin bags and gloves from the shop (or you can bring your own from home). While you are out on your adventures that day, simply collect what rubbish you can find and bring it back to us. Add it to the pile, and enjoy the food, drink and merriment, and maybe even win a prize. The local council collects it all on Monday morning for safe disposal.
Our sponsors Mountain Equipment and Black Diamond will be providing prizes for Crag Clean Up 2025, plus returning support from the BMC and UKC.

Crag Clean Up - Timetable
9:30am Shop and cafe opens, please call in to collect bags and gloves (or bring your own)
Add your swag to the pile throughout the day
5:00 pm, BBQ and refreshments begin
6:00 pm shop closes, spot prizes awarded shortly after.
