What. An open invite Youlgrave Harriers Social Run.
There used to be a challenge race of 40 miles passing 4 Inns. Over the years Inns have closed and it became increasingly difficult to put on, so ceased to be in 2019. It was a really inefficient way of visting 4 Inns. So in the spirit of that we thought we'd make a 4 Inns challenge in the style of Youlgrave Harriers, so more focus on the 4 Inns.
The social run will pay a visit to our monthly pub run destination pubs all in 1 run. Taking in Miner's Standard (Winster), Druids (Birchover), Flying Childers (Stanton in Peak) and Lathkill Hotel (Over Haddon).
Start/Meeting point: Outside the front of Youlgrave HQ (The George , Youlgrave).10:45 meet for a 11:00 start
Route: 11.5 mile / 1600 feet. Subject to minor change.
We start from Youlgrave. leg 1, a 4 mile run to Miners in Winster. We will have a little refreshment and its a short leg 2. Leg 2 is 1 and a bit mile to Druids in Birchover. We'll have a bag of crisps and more refreshment before leg 3. Leg 3 is 1.5mile in stanton moor to get to flying childers in stanton. Leg 4 is the last big push to get to Over Haddon, its 3miles but all downhill, apart from the uphill. A final stop at the Lathkill to admire the view and more refreshment. It’s then the final push back to The George to recover and congratulate yourself on completing the 4 Inns Challange.
