EMOTIONAL QUILTS: A Scant History of British Quilts DEB McGUIRE

Skipping through 300 years of quilt history in 90 mins, Deb explores a ‘scant’ history of the British quilt, drawing on extant examples from collections across the UK as she demonstrates where inspiration can be drawn from the past to inform new work. In each historical period Deb shares many of her own modern hand stitched quilts, drawing out threads that link makers to the makers of the past, and encouraging modern makers to think about how represent British quilt making traditions in fresh modern quilts today.
