Shree Jagannatha Gundicha Rath Yatra embraces inclusivity. No matter the religion or race everyone can join the sacred event to show respect for diverse beliefs and faiths. The AHT’s Rath Yatra (Festival of Chariots) displays unique and rich rituals, each with its own story. Since AHT's inception, it has always attracted the residents of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire & London. This year will be the 7th year, we have celebrated this unique Rath Yatra event in Aylesbury which aims to cater to hitherto unserved communities.
Experience the divine journey of Lord Jagannath, along with his siblings Lord Balabhadra, their sister Mata Subhadra & Sudarshan as they are ceremoniously paraded in a grand chariot procession, continuing a timeless tradition rooted in Puri, Odisha. Be part of this joyous and spiritually uplifting celebration!
The Gist of Rath Yatra
Rath Yatra, also known as the Festival of Chariots, is one of the oldest and most revered festivals in Sanatana Dharma. It symbolises the divine journey of the deities from the temple sanctum to the abode of Maa Gundicha, bestowing blessings upon all devotees along the way. The Chariots, traditionally constructed from specially chosen sacred trees, are meticulously crafted each year by a designated group of skilled woodworkers. Once completed and beautifully decorated, they are joyfully pulled by thousands of devoted participants.
