Texans have shown up for each other in a big way over the last few weeks. And the pet-loving community has ensured that animals weren't left out of receiving the help they deserve.
While Austin Pets Alive! jumped into emergency response efforts, the lifesaving work that takes place in a typical day didn't stop. The regular safety-net programming continued, among those, the Parvo Puppy ICU!
🐶 Every year, APA! takes in hundreds of puppies with parvovirus–a disease that is almost always fatal if not treated. Running this program takes a lot of resources and heart. And while emergency response support will be needed for quite some time, we can't ease off the peddle of supporting our day-to-day work, like caring for puppies with parvovirus.
And that is exactly what Paddle for Puppies is doing! Now in its 14th year, this event, sponsored by Austin Subaru and hosted by Rowing Dock, takes place on Lady Bird Lake on August 10th. All funds raised with this event will go directly to puppies whose lives are at risk and can be saved with the help of our community and APA!'s parvo puppy program.
