NASA's International Observe the Moon Night

Join us for NASA's annual International Observe the Moon Night! View the Moon, Saturn and other celestial objects through telescopes and learn about our solar system through educational, hands-on activities. Make a Moon crater, take home samples of rocks similar to what we find on our Moon, view the Moon in creative ways, color the Moon and go on a scale model of our solar system walk.

Hosted by Travis County Parks Foundation, Del Valle Community Coalition, 4-H Capital and Travis County Natural Resources.

This is a free, family-friendly event! Bring a camp chair, blanket and water bottle. Come prepared to be inspired by the night sky while learning about the Moon and our solar system through hands-on activities.

To enjoy a natural night sky, a red light flashlight is recommended. If you don’t have a red light flashlight, we will provide one to borrow during the event.

If storms are in the forecast the day of the event, we will notify you by email at least two hours prior to the start time to let you know if the event will be rescheduled.
