ABOUT VERONICA & JOEL
Verónica Peinado & Joel de la O are tango dancers with more than 10 years of experience in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Their first competition together took place in March 2017 at the First International Tango Open, organized by the Tango Chilango Festival in Mexico City.
Individually, they have excelled in various national and international competitions, obtaining important podium places in most of them. In February 2024, they resumed their work as a dance couple under the direction of Martín Ojeda and Pamela Bustos, re-entering the competitive scene.
In May of 2024, they were runners-up in the Bajío National Championship in León, Guanajuato. Later, in August, they reached the semifinals of the World Tango Dance Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Currently, they offer private classes in Guadalajara and are regularly invited to various festivals and milongas across the country, where they share their knowledge through classes and performances.
They also host the Idilio Tanguero podcast, with the purpose of sharing, spreading and promoting the tango culture among connoisseurs and those curious about the subject.
