About Emily McLoud:
Emily McLoud is a folk/Americana singer-songwriter based in Austin, TX, whose music blends bluegrass and traditional country influences with deeply personal, poetic storytelling. With a voice that carries both melancholy and hope, Emily’s songs explore themes of self-discovery, resilience, motherhood, and relationships—offering listeners a sense of connection and shared humanity.
Emily’s musical roots trace back to her childhood, where she first studied piano before falling in love with the violin. She grew up playing classical music, competing in regional and statewide events, and performing with the prestigious Greater Houston Youth Orchestra. After years of making music in bands and with close collaborators, Emily took a decade-long pause to raise a family. She returned to music with the release of her first solo EP in late 2022, marking a new chapter in her artistic journey. Since then, she has released four singles, including her latest, Fork and Spoon, with plans to record her first full-length solo album this Summer.
Beyond music, Emily’s work as a palliative care and hospice nurse practitioner deeply informs her songwriting. Bearing witness to life’s most profound moments, she writes with an acute awareness of gratitude and the fragile beauty of human connection. “A problem shared is a problem halved, and a joy shared is a joy doubled,” she says. “My hope is that my music falls on the ears that need it most.”
