DAY 1 - LECTURE AND VISUAL STUDY
How artists use the visual elements to create a work of art.
The uses of the visual element Color in a work of art.
1. To create unity and variation.
2. To create mood or feeling.
3. To help establish interest areas in the work of art.
4. To model form.
Day 2 - DEMONSTRATION AND HANDS-ON
Practical tips to using color in art work.
1. Know your pigments.
2. Setting up your paints.
3. Deciding on what the color is that you need.
4. How to create your needed color by mixing, wet into wet, glazing, and using adjacent colors.
Lecture and Hands-on color exploration.
1. Students practice color mixing techniques.
2. Students work critiques.

Bring a current piece of art you are working on for the 2nd class. All else will be provided.
