Panel and Community Conversation on Immigration
To help you, your neighbor, and your country
In this panel discussion, attendees will:
Explore and clarify terms like illegal immigrants, migrants, asylum seekers, documented/undocumented status, green cards, and work visas, so we can engage our communities in informed, respectful conversations that foster understanding of our immigrant neighbors.
Understand the services being provided regularly as people go through this legal immigration process.
Learn about current dangers to our immigrant neighbors and the responses to protect and support them, as well as the possible impact on commerce and agriculture with the detaining and removal of our neighbors.
Join Jon Godbout, executive director of the Capital Area New Mainers Project, and Lisa Parisio, an attorney with Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project based in Portland.
This program is free and open to the public.
