G-Funk, or "gangsta funk," emerged in the early 1990s on the West Coast hip-hop scene, known for its smooth bass and heavy use of synthesizers.
Pioneered by artists like Nate Dogg, Snoop, Warren G, Dr. Dre, DJ Quik & many global producers still keeping the culture alive today. G-Funk blends gangsta rap's lyrical themes with Funk's musical style. Inspired by the FUNK OG's like Parliment Funkadelic, Zapp & Roger, Bootsy Collins & Sly and the Family Stone!
