Join the Friends of Seymour Library for a Garden Tour and Plein Air fundraising event on Saturday, June 14, in and around the historic and picturesque city of Auburn. Enjoy a variety of private and public gardens! Artists will be plein air painting (painting outdoors from nature) in several of the host gardens. Those attending the event will be able to vote for a "People's Choice" award for the best painting after 3 pm at the library. Proceeds from the event will go directly to support Seymour Library programs and services.
The self-guided tour will begin at Hoopes Park, 100 S Herman Ave, Auburn, NY 13021, where a directional map describing each location will be distributed. Participants can start their tour anytime after 10:00 am. Gardens close at 3 pm, and your last stop should be at Seymour Library, 176-178 Genesee Street, Auburn, NY 13021, with refreshments, music, plein air art exhibit (3 to 4 pm), drawings for prizes, a plant sale, and information on the Master Gardener Program from Cornell Cooperative Extension.
Tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 the day of the event and are available online (PayPal) and at Seymour Library. On the day of the event, we will have Hoopes Park History Talks at 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30 in Hoopes Park.
