We've partnered with SweetWater Brewing for a special collaborative experience, the Red X Passport Event, to celebrate a special grain & two unique products!
Our RED X Single Malt Whiskey is made from 100% of the German Red X varietal of malted barley, which is often used in red ales. This product is distilled on our Scottish-style double copper pot stills, aged in white oak barrels, and finished with staves of Georgia white oak heartwood. We recently released a blend of our last two barrels from the first-ever batch, aged for just over 7 years, and finished with staves of Georgia heartwood.
After we harvested this whiskey, we sent the white oak barrel used for aging to SweetWater Brewing. SweetWater crafted a unique Red IPA using the Red X varietal of malted barley as well, and aged this special beer in the used Red X Single Malt whiskey cask. The result is Little Red X a wonderfully unique, barrel-aged IPA.
Join us for this experience that includes a drink token for a pour of the RED X Single Malt or drink of your choice, and a tour of the whiskey distillery starting at ASW Distillery at 6 pm. You can also add on a bottle of RED X Single Malt at checkout!
At 7 pm, we will walk across the street to our neighbors at the SweetWater Brewery taproom. Here you will receive a complimentary pour of the Little Red X IPA, as well as a tour of the brewery!
