About this Event

In honor of Mothers Day, join BLKHLTH for an evening of collective care, storytelling, and support centered around Black motherhood. In addition to free maternal health resources and dinner, the event will feature a special live performance of the play Black Mother Joy from Out of Hand Theater and an enriching conversation on strategies for positive pregnancy, birth, and motherhood experiences. Whether you’re a new or expecting parent, care provider, or advocate - we’d love for you to celebrate Black mothers with us!

About BLKHLTH:

BLKHLTH is a Black-led Atlanta-based 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on advancing health equity in Black communities through antiracism education, advocacy, research, and programs. Our community-centered content, workshops, and events create space for education and action.

About Thriving Together Atlanta:

Thriving Together Atlanta is a public art project dedicated to addressing racial equity in health through free events and activities, including murals by Atlanta artists, mobile art experiences, an arts and cultural festival, and Equitable Dinners.

Thriving Together Atlanta represents an innovative collaboration between the City of Atlanta Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs, the National Black Arts Festival and Out of Hand Theater, aimed at tackling the pressing issues of health disparities, inequities, and the impact of racism on public health. This collaborative effort engages communities through the power of arts and culture, to educate, empower, and mobilize individuals towards positive action.

Thriving Together Atlanta serves as a model of how cross-sector partnerships can address the multifaceted issues affecting communities today. Learn more at www.thrivingtogetheratlanta.org.

About Equitable Dinners:

Equitable Dinners Atlanta is a collaborative partnership of Out of Hand Theater, The National Center for Civil and Human Rights, the Fulton County Remembrance Coalition and many other community partners. Launched by a short one person play, Equitable Dinners invites everyone into a shared experience of the pains and the joys of life. Participants are then guided in a facilitated conversation and share together how they can make a positive difference. Guests leave with a deeper connection with others, hopeful about the future and their role in it. Learn more at www.equitabledinners.com.
