Open Heritage Day

Come celebrate Open Heritage Day in Dún na Sí, where we’ll be stepping into the rich traditions of Irish life through hands-on demonstrations and family-friendly experiences.

The highlight of the day will be The heart of rural crafts in Ireland - a multidisciplinary craft demonstration put together by Irish Heritage Crafts Co-op, where visitors will explore the foundations of rural crafts in the Irish community. Crafts on display will include blacksmithing, willow basket making, green woodwork and leather work. The event is supported by the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport and the National Monuments Service .

Guests can also join one of the guided tours, delivered by the park’s most experienced tour guides. Young or old, everyone will find something to enjoy among the many fascinating stories of Irish history and mythology.


Soak up the atmosphere, explore the culture, and connect with Ireland’s rich heritage — all free of charge for the day.
