Passion Works is excited to partner with Ohio University’s COMS 4050 class for TWO upcoming Story Slams at Donkey Coffee — and we’d love to hear YOUR story!
All semester long, the students of COMS 4050 have been working alongside Passion Works artists, learning how creativity, connection, and community spark powerful storytelling. Inspired by that collaboration, they’ve created two special Story Slam themes:
November 21 — “Happy Accidents”
Stories about surprises, unexpected twists, and the beautiful mistakes that change everything.
December 5 — “Full Circle”
Stories about coming back to where you started, rediscovering something important, or finding meaning in the loops life throws at us.

What’s a Story Slam?
A Story Slam is a live storytelling event, inspired by The Moth, where people share true, personal stories on stage without notes. It’s all about authenticity, vulnerability, and connecting through lived experience. Anyone can participate!
We already have a good lineup of Ohio University faculty, but we’re especially hoping to feature students and Athens community members. No experience needed — just a story that matters to you.
