Senior Adult Trip to Helen Keller Birthplace

In June, our Senior Adult Ministry will be taking a trip to Ivy Green, the birthplace of Helen Keller, to tour the museum/home and see THE MIRACLE WORKER, a live play depicting the early life of Helen Keller. The play is presented on Friday and Saturday nights in June and July each year in the outdoor amphitheater on the grounds of Ivy Green. On Friday, June 20, we will leave the church at 1:30pm and head to Tuscumbia. We will tour the museum/home around 3:15pm. After the home tour, we will leave and go to supper at Stephano's Southland Restaurant. After supper we will return to Ivy Green for the paly—gates open at 7pm, and showtime is 8pm. In order to reserve your spot on the bus, you will need to purchase your ticket to the play. The cost of admission for the play is $20. Tos tickets need to be purchased in advance so that we are guaranteed ground-level chair seating rather than being seated in metal bleachers. That $20 must be paid NO LATER than Sunday, May 18. You may turn in the money by placing it in an envelope marked TUSCUMBIA TRIP and putting it in the Sunday morning offering, or you may submit payment to the church office. Please make checks payable to the church. In addition to the $20 for the play, when we arrive for the afternoon tour, each person will need to individually pay admission to the museum/home (approximately $8/each), and for your meal. Anyone who would like to attend is welcome—you don’t have to be (or admit to being) a senior. The only requirement is you MUST turn in your $20 no later than Sunday, May 18.
