Join the Clatsop County Master Gardener Association on Saturday, May 10 as our popular annual event returns to the Clatsop Co. Fair & Expo Center! Our Spring Plant Sale and Education Event is FREE TO ATTEND for all community members, and we’ll have a wide range of edible and ornamental plants available for purchase. Plant Sale: We’ll be selling a variety of vegetable starts, herbs and perennials. Cash, personal checks and credit cards will be accepted for in-person purchases. You can see most available items, as well as shop early, through our online plant sale. Our online plant sale will be open from April 6 to May 7 for expedited pick-up at the fairgrounds on event day.
Free Soil pH Tests & Tool Sharpening: Our volunteers will once again be offering complimentary soil pH testing and tool sharpening services. Don’t forget to bring your soil samples and any hand tools that may need some TLC! For soil pH tests, you’ll need to bring 1 - 2 cups of soil from the area you’d like to test. You can find more information on how to collect a soil sample on our website.
Family-Friendly Educational Activities: In addition to the plant sale, we’ll have FREE educational activities for the whole family. Seek home gardening advice from our Master Gardener volunteers, participate in hands-on activities for kids, and visit table clinics to learn about bees, hummingbirds, seed collecting, mushrooms and more.
Raffle: We’ll be hosting a fundraising raffle, with all collected funds supporting our county-wide Master Gardener programs. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the prize station. Be sure to grab an event passport upon entry– check off your station visits to receive free bonus raffle tickets!
