🤱🌿 Traditional Midwife Circle
With Dona Francisquinha & Andreia Shawa
Open to all genders
This is more than a circle about birth—it's a space for listening, learning, and reconnecting with ancestral knowledge of life, care, and healing.
🌿 About the Guides
👵 Dona Francisquinha is a highly respected midwife, healer, and spiritual guide from the Shawãdawa people—part of the Arara Nation of the western Brazilian Amazon. She is the daughter of a shaman, Naytãnã, and a traditional midwife and healer, Rôapay. From a very young age, she was initiated into the spiritual and medicinal traditions of her people.
She spent her childhood walking the forest with her father, learning to identify, harvest, and prepare the sacred plants used to heal the body and spirit. By the age of 15, she began assisting in home births and has since dedicated her life to supporting women through natural childbirth and traditional healing.
Her work is rooted in the use of forest medicines, prayers, spiritual cleansing, and deep energetic perception. She has a unique ability to recognize emotional and spiritual imbalances and guide people back into harmony through the wisdom of the Earth.
In 2004, she was invited to join the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers, a global alliance of women elders committed to preserving ancestral knowledge. In 2013, she was honored with the title Planetary Grandmother of Brazil during a ceremony in Barcelona.
Now 68, Dona Francisquinha continues to share the sacred teachings of her lineage—carrying the forest’s voice and offering healing through ritual, prayer, and deep presence.
🌸 Andreia Shawa, her daughter, is a medicine woman, traditional midwife, and carrier of the same ancestral lineage. She has been immersed in healing work since childhood, learning from her mother and grandmother the use of herbal remedies, flower essences, tinctures, and spiritual care.
Andreia began attending births as a young teenager and has since developed her own practice rooted in the healing of the womb and feminine body. She works with women throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, offering a blend of traditional wisdom and respectful integration with modern approaches to wellness.
Her work is gentle, powerful, and deeply intuitive—focused on supporting physical, emotional, and spiritual balance. As a voice of the new generation of forest healers, Andreia holds sacred space for women to reconnect with their inner wisdom and feminine power.
Together, Dona Francisquinha and Andreia offer a rare and sacred connection to the healing ways of the forest, carried with humility, strength, and profound love.
