Dear hikers,
Let us hike together on a trail that combines mountains, valleys, forests, orchards, Roman oak trees, springs. A place were our ancestors used its vineyards to produce wine during the Phoenician and Roman era as well as under the Ottoman rule. A place where the Roman burial sites, and pottery exists since the year 450 B.C.E. A place were the Romans & the Phoenicians use its roads to transit the cedars wood & calvary from one place to another.
A place where several water springs exist on the foothills of Mount Barouk.
A place where Wadi Safi, a famous Lebanese singer and composer was born.
From Maasser shouf village, start your walk along an uphill dirt road around 900 meters in distance toward Mrosti passing by a valley of orchards full of colorful trees surrounded by beautiful hills and small ponds. From the highlands of Mrosti, we will hike on 3 hills between huge Roman oak forest then we will pass 2 water springs. One in Mrosti and the other one in Jbaa.
In Jbaa, we will take our lunch break next Ain Chaachouaa spring.
We will follow the path of LMT section 20, cross by the spring and follow the dirt road before taking a footpath which passes near the pine forest up to rocky saddle where you start a decent towards the valley. Then we will follow the water canal to reach the main square of Niha village next to Wadih Safi's tomb.

1- @ 7:15 am: jal dib near DHL and Banque Libano Francaise facing the Canadian embassy (we can pick our hikers that live on our way)
2- @ 7:30 am: near Al Amine Mosque downtown Beirut.
Departure: 7:30 am from Al amine mosque Beirut (plz be on time)
: 7:15 am from Jal dib (plz be on time)

Required materials: hiking boots, backpack, hat, 3L of water, raincoat, sunglasses, sunscreen, healthy snacks, hiking stick.
Fees: 20 USD (including transportation, guidance, giveaways, but does not include medical insurance)

2- Foreigners: 10 USD
