About the event

Preparing to be a Prescribed Fire Manager
This workshop is intended for public and private land managers who are ready to become a certified prescribed fire manager in Ohio.

About this Event

The Ohio Prescribed Fire Council is offering this advanced opportunity to help land managers obtain more knowledge about the core skills needed to become a certified prescribed fire manager in Ohio. If you are contemplating becoming a certified fire manager, but may need more experience and knowledge, this will be an ideal workshop to improve your skills. You should have already been on at least 5 burns and are not certified as a fire manager. Topics will include key skills for a prescribed fire manager, methods for spreading & controlling fire, necessary equipment, and a field discussion of burn units and planning.

This workshop registration fee of $40 will include a box lunch, refreshments, and workshop materials. Be sure to pick one of four options for box lunches, which includes chips and a cookie. The workshop will be limited to 40 people, intended for people who may apply for the DOF Certified Prescribed Fire Manager course in October.
