Brunsberg Konsthall, founded by a german-norwegian artistcouple, is located in the Värmland region of Sweden.
The former forestresearch station is active in the fields of contemporary art and embodied knowledge. BK sees itself as an international bridge for the exchange of ideas and highlights artistic strategies for knowledge acquisition in order to complement scientific research with artistic approaches.
The Botany of Desires illuminates aspects of the co-evolution of plants and human culture with the help of the visual arts. The participating artists belong to three generations and live in Sweden, Norway, France, and Germany. In their art- works, they focus on plants as material, structure, texture, color, symbol, and cul- tural use in different approaches. The program aims to raise awareness of how declining biodiversity is linked to the loss of human cultural techniques.
* We are pleased to show Regine Steenbock’s film "Chinese Weave", which presents her artistic collaboration with the four Miao wax painters Naima Yang, Guangyuan Yang, Chengying Yang and Peiyin Luo.
