About the event

Tying it all Together: Making Cordage from Nature
Historically Native People tied much of their lives together with handmade string and rope.
Visit our interpreters at their fur trade camp to watch a dogbane cordage demonstration. See samples of cordage made from other wild plants available in the area. Then try your hand at using a rope making machine to learn how ropes were made by the early fur traders to trade with the Native Peoples.
