CJ JEFF [BEACH PARTY]

Playing music from the age of 19, Greek producer and DJ, CJ Jeff has a wealth of experience in
the electronic music world, working in the industry
for over 20 years from A&R to event promotion,
to co-owning clubs and owning a label. Starting
as a raver at the likes of Cavo Paradiso (Mykonos) and Ministry of Sound, CJ Jeff soon learnt
he wanted to be on the other side of the booth,
playing his music to large crowds. Heavy original
influences stem from Progressive Rock artists
such as Pink Floyd and Massive Attack; his love
for these artists remains the same to this day.
CJ Jeff’s passion for travelling keeps him at one
with the world. Feeling most at home in the Capital of Electronic music, Berlin, he has regularly
found himself in the Techno mecca for 25years
playing in clubs such as Sisyphos and Watergate. His fondest memory of Berlin goes back
to attending the opening night of the world- renowned clubbing institution Berghain Panorama
Bar.
As co-owner of Dybbuk nightclub in Athens, CJ
Jeff faces the challenge of maneuvering the locals away from traditional music and encouraging
them towards dance music. In the face of such
a challenge, CJ Jeff has seen great success,
bringing the underground scene to a lavish club,
inviting both emerging and well- known House
and Techno acts to play in Athens. Working hard
to develop the electronic music scene in Greece
and Athens, has been a key focus and one that is
fundamental in his successes.
CJ’s unique production techniques involve ascertaining basslines from hip hop tracks, adding
further vocals, basslines and more. As a point
of inspiration for himself, CJ Jeff strives to bring
something new in his output. With no specific
formula for his productions, each track is different
from the last whilst still maintaining the CJ Jeff “attitude”. His earliest releases have found homes
on Souvenir, These Days, Supernova’s, Lapsus Music and John Digweed’s influential Bedrock Records. With such a long-standing career,
CJ Jeff has seen further success in more recent
years, releasing on a vast array of labels including 8Bit, Objektivity and Kling Klong. 2019
has lined up releases on seminal and respected
labels such as Circus Recordings, Saved
Records, Yoshitoshi and Nonstop.
All receiving a multitude of support from artists
such as Dennis Ferrer, Oxia, Nic Fanciulli and
Rafa Barios, adding to his impressive history in
music production.
As a label owner, CJ Jeff’s imprint Rhythmetic continues to flourish with artists including
Doc Martin, Kreon and Tom Clark featuring as
mainstays. From its humble beginnings in 2005,
the imprint has seen releases by No Artificial
Colours and Nick Curly, many ranking highly
on Beatport with further support from the likes of
Carl Cox, spinning them at the legendary Space,
Ibiza.
Throughout 2020, CJ Jeff looks to employ his
experiences working in many major positions
in the industry pushing his own music and label -
taking his music philosophy worldwide.
