Birding Field Trip to Allen Marsh

Join Redwood Region Audubon Society and trip leader Ken Burton at Arcata Marsh’s Allen Marsh on Sunday, July 20 from 7 to 9 a.m. With its combination of open water, marsh, swamp, and wooded islands, Allen Marsh is one of the most productive features of the Arcata Marsh for birds. Join Ken Burton (shrikethree AT gmail.com) for a short, early morning walk focusing on identifying juveniles. We'll also be on the lookout for American Bittern, which could be breeding there this year. Meet at the Brackish Pond pullout on South I St. (40.860973, -124.09330).
