Gather pop-up dining offers convivial monthly meals where you can enjoy uncommon - and uncommonly delicious - dishes from around the world.
The second Sunday this month just happens to fall the day before Bastille Day, so naturally I have French food on the brain. This month's dinner offers dishes you might enjoy after a day of sunning yourself à la plage and bathing in the Mediterranean sea.
The menu will include tender seared steak with a compound butter inspired by the flavors of the region, socca — a savory, crispy pancake made from chickpea flour that is a specialty of southern France, and a cherry clafoutis for dessert. Dinner will be accompanied by buckets of cold rosé, of course. (A vegetarian option will also be available by advance request!)
Weather permitting, we'll dine outside. (But the A/C has been installed in the main room at the 602 club in case it's sweltering hot!)
