FRIENDS OF ANSTEAD BUSHLAND INVITE YOU TO A BUSHCARE MORNING ON SUNDAY
Please join us in Anstead Bushland Reserve for our first Sunday of the month bushcare session to be held this coming Sunday, 3 August. In line with our schedule for April to September, we’ll meet at 8:30am and finish around 11am for morning tea (there’ll be cake, fruit and drinks to share).
This Sunday will also be the start of a special series of three sessions on natural bush regeneration led by Jim Williams (see attached flyer). The first session will run alongside our ‘first Sunday’ bushcare this week. You don’t need to register for first Sunday bushcare but you’ll need to register on Humanitix if you want to join Jim’s series on natural bush regeneration – see details on the flyer.
WHERE IS IT?
For both events we’ll meet at the Anstead Bushland Reserve Picnic Area next to the main carpark. Entry to the car park is from Hawkesbury Road, just a short distance from the corner of Hawkesbury and Mt Crosby Roads (UBD 195 N4). If you arrive late, you’ll be able to find us along the walking trail between the Picnic Area and the Lookout (see the map on the Picnic Area noticeboard or just follow our arrows and signs on the walking trail).
WHY COME ALONG?
You will connect with a dedicated team implementing natural methods of bush regeneration. You’ll be helping to rescue areas of bushland from being overrun by weeds and, over time, you’ll be able to watch the bush regenerate from within.
WHAT TO BRING
Please wear sun protective clothing, covered shoes and long pants and bring a hat and a water bottle. Also, if you have your own sharp secateurs, you may like to bring those along for cutting off W**d seeds (we will have extras available).
