Join Food Works and the Illinois Grazing Lands Coalition for a Pasture Walk at The Flock Farm in Anna, IL (Union County) on Thursday, July 10th from 4–6 PM!
Farmer Brent Glays will guide visitors through this thriving 37-acre, multi-species rotational grazing operation, where heritage breeds of sheep, goats, cattle, hogs, and chickens work together with the land—not against it.
🌱 Learn how The Flock Farm:
• Improves soil health and boosts forage quality
• Reduces invasive species and parasite pressure
• Lowers feed and vet costs through healthy pastures
• Enhances animal well-being with species-appropriate grazing
The Illinois Grazing Lands Coalition will be on hand with helpful resources, funding opportunities, and technical support to help you apply these practices on your own land.
🍴 After the walk, enjoy a locally sourced meal prepared by Cold-Blooded Smokehouse and Catering, featuring seasonal ingredients and a chance to connect with other growers and graziers.
🏡 Located in Union County, The Flock Farm is also home to a licensed poultry processing facility and an on-farm store featuring goods from 23 local producers—a true hub for regional food systems and regenerative farming.
📣 This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited.
