Introduction to the wheel

Curious about trying pottery? Our Intro to the Wheel workshop is the perfect way to get your hands dirty and experience the magic of wheel throwing! In this 2-hour session, our instructor will guide you through the fundamentals of working with clay on the pottery wheel.

You'll start by learning how to centre the clay, then move on to pulling up the walls to shape a basic cylinder—an essential skill for making bowls, mugs, and more. Once you've got the hang of it, you'll have time to explore different forms and experiment with your creativity.

At the end of the workshop, you can have your favourite piece glazed in the colour of your choice and fired. Additional pieces can be glazed and fired for $10 each.

No experience? No problem! This workshop is designed for absolute beginners and is a fun, hands-on way to try pottery in a relaxed, supportive environment.

What to bring: Clothes you don’t mind getting messy and a can-do attitude!

Please note:
*Due to the slow nature of ceramics, finished pieces will be ready for collection in approximately 2-4 weeks. You will be notified via email when your piece is ready. Alternatively, you can choose to have it posted for an additional fee.
*Trimmed nails are recommended
