Pigtails Ride 2025

Join us for an unforgettable one-day, 48-mile springtime bike ride designed specifically for women along one of the most scenic trails in the Midwest, the High Trestle Trail. The Pigtails Ride starts and ends at the District in Prairie Trail, Ankeny, Iowa, taking riders through breathtaking landscapes and providing a chance to create lifelong memories.

Whether you're a first time rider or a cycling enthusiast, the Pigtails ride is a perfect opportunity to get outside and ride with a supportive community of women bikers!

When you register for the Pigtails Ride, you’ll receive much more than just a fantastic day on your bike. You’ll have the opportunity to take portraits at the iconic High Trestle Bridge, enjoy a free and tasty lunch at the Flat Tire Lounge, and take advantage of awesome drink specials at numerous Pigtails party stops along the way. And don’t forget about the Pigtails Ride commemorative items – perfect souvenirs to remember your incredible ride. You'll also have the opportunity to order a custom Pigtails Primal jersery!

This ride is part of the Iowa Bicycle Coalition's official training rides for RAGBRAI. Join us for the Pigtails Ride and discover the joy of cycling in a supportive, fun, and empowering environment.

Riders will take off for a 48-mile ride along the High Trestle Trail with stops in Madrid and the High Trestle Trail bridge. Longer options take riders to Woodward (53 miles).

Staying in a hotel near the trail eliminates the need to travel long distances to the starting point. A room can help you feel more comfortable, safe, and connected to the event, making for a more enjoyable and successful experience.
