About the event

In Context: Birds and Cranes in Alaska Native Cultures
Birds have been important food and cultural resources for Alaska’s Indigenous peoples for thousands of years. Lili Naves will share data and insights about this relationship between people and birds and its importance in supporting community well-being. Then, the museum staff will lead a close-looking experience with several masks in the Anchorage Museum collection.

6 – 8 p.m. Friday, June 6, in the Reynolds Room, First Floor, Education Wing & Smithsonian Arctic Studies Center, Second Floor, West Wing
