Harold López-Nussa Trio

Versatile master pianist from Havana. The concert is followed by a Cuban dance party.

Harold López-Nussa is one of the flag-bearers of Cuban jazz piano; charismatic and incredibly flexible in his playing. As a classically trained prodigy he chose to play Afro-Cuban jazz and became pianist with diva Omara Portuondo. His own music encompasses many sides of latin jazz, including contemporary styles such as songo and reggaeton.

Harold López-Nussa made his international breakthrough ten years ago with the project Ninety Miles, featuring David Sánchez, Christian Scott and Stefon Harris. Harold comes from a musical family: his nephew Ernan López-Nussa is a famous piano player and his father Ray López-Nussa is a gifted percussionist. The drummer in his current trio is his younger brother Ruy Adrián López-Nussa.

After the concert the music will continue with a Cuban salsa party at our café with an incredible view, where everybody is invited to dance. Salsa Panorama, organized by Salsa District, has become a tradition at the BIMHUIS.
