An afternoon with Marjan Ippel: Dutch is Soooo Easy

From NT2 teacher (Dutch as a 2nd language), to journalist, soap writer (GTST), food writer (Foodlingo Bijbel a.o.), public (food) speaker and publisher – was and is all of it. Currently, she devotes her days to writing and her nights to teaching Dutch to people from all over the world. From refugees to expats and everyone in between.

Instead, Marjan Ippel chronicles her NT2 students' views on the Dutch language, culture, and customs as they share them with her during class. But she also recounts her students’ own hang-ups: Why do the Dutch always say ‘Doe normaal!’ (Act normal!)? And what is the very first app non-native speakers download on their smartphones in the Netherlands (even before Tinder)? Marjan Ippel spills the tea.
