Soul Filter is a four-piece, award-nominated Alt-Rock-Pop band from Summerside, PEI. Lead singer-songwriter Karen Penton aims to weave introspective silver linings through love and misery with an often-nostalgic 90s vibe inspired by artists such as Alanis Morissette, The Cranberries, Sass Jordan & Sheryl Crow. The band’s latest two singles “Quicksand Town” & “The City Knows” achieved recognition as semi-finalists in the International Songwriting Competition in 2023 and 2022. Soul Filter’s debut album "A Minor Conspiracy" garnered them a 2020 Music PEI nomination for Rock Recording of the Year. Band members include Andy Adams on drums, Ronnie Arsenault on bass, Mike Penton on electric guitar, & Karen Penton on lead vocals and rhythm guitar. The band is currently in the studio recording, but has a few shows lined up for the summer.
