King Overman : Life-size Art Workshop

Join artist King Overman for a unique, hands-on workshop sharing the techniques behind his Ballers life-size portrait series. A must for fans of Basketball and large-scale art.

King Overman is a Manchester based artist who began painting in 2021 to help manage living with long-term illness. He is known for his large portraits of sports and musical icons. His paintings have been exhibited at Brooklyn Museum and collected by filmmaker Spike Lee and NBA legend, Dominique Wilkins.

In this session, the artist will guide you through his unique methods for creating large scale art - developed as a direct result of his health challenges. These techniques are big in impact but low in stress and energy demands. You’ll get the chance to create your own pieces, using simple expressive methods—no prior experience required.

All materials and light refreshments provided. This workshop is suitable for teens and adults.

This event is in conjunction with the artist's Ballers exhibition the previous day (5th July), featuring a large selection of King Overman's life-size paintings and sculptures.

Please note- if you choose to attend the workshop, some paintings from the previous day's exhibition will have been taken down to make space for your class. However the main exhibition room pieces will all be on display.
