Farm Kid Safety Day is geared towards children ages 6-14 who will be spending time at the farm. This free class (lunch included) is sponsored by Kent County Farm Bureau.

This is an active participation class with small groups traveling to the different stations and participating in activities that teach farm safety. There are props and demonstrations at each station so the children can participate in the learning process.

Stations: Farm Shop Tool Safety; Tractor Safety, Animal Handling; Flowable Grain Awareness; Decontamination for the Farm Kid; 1st Aid for the Farm Kid.

The Safety Day curriculum was designed and will be run by RURAL RESCUE, a group of Fire and EMS personnel who have been teaching Agricultural Rescue to all ages for many years. Volunteers will be drawn from the Farm Bureau Promotion & Education Committee, Farm Bureau members, and local community organizations.
