Dinosaur Day

Come for a train ride and meet the South Tynedale Railway Dinosaur!
Travel through the beautiful South Tyne Valley to Slaggyford in one of our trains hauled by a heritage locomotive and meet our friendly dinosaur who will have a little gift for everyone aged 0-17! There's a trail to follow around our Alston site and a badge to claim if you find all the dinos! Our mezzanine level above the engineering workshop will be open so you can find out about the history of our railway and see what the volunteers are working on in the workshop. Our site and trains are accessible and dog friendly too. Wooly's on platform 1 at Alston will be open serving a range of meals, snacks and hot and cold drinks.
