Rob Fowler with the Richard Wetherall Trio

Saxophonist Rob Fowler will be leading a top-class quartet for an evening of swinging, straight-ahead jazz.

Known for his full-bodied tone and commanding stage presence, Rob Fowler is one of the UK’s most accomplished and versatile saxophonists. A former member of Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Rob has toured extensively across the world, performing at leading jazz festivals and concert halls, and appearing on numerous television and radio broadcasts. His playing blends technical mastery with a deep-rooted sense of groove, drawing on influences from the classic tenor greats such as Dexter Gordon, Ben Webster, and Stan Getz. Whether in hard-swinging uptempo numbers or tender ballads, Rob’s sound combines power, warmth, and a beautifully natural sense of phrasing that always captivates audiences.

Supporting Rob is the superb Richard Wetherall on piano — a highly respected musician whose expressive touch and creative harmonic sense have made him a fixture on the Northern jazz scene. His versatility has taken him from collaborations with Bobby Wellins and Mark Nightingale to international touring with bands such as Casablanca Steps.
